Claremont Center for Spiritual Living

Our Center is a spiritual community of love, support and inspiration. Here you are welcome exactly as you are, no matter your gender, color, sexual orientation, disability, age, size or level of sobriety. You will find acceptance without judgment whether you are celebrating a success, questioning a life circumstance or grieving a loss.

CCSL classes, workshops, and services provide necessary tools to live a fulfilling and balanced life. These tools are designed to bring about a greater awareness of our own spiritual magnificence, inviting us to get involved in life in ways we might never have thought possible. It’s amazing what happens when you hang out with spiritually like-minded people and connect.

On Sunday, December 3, 1944 Pearl Lady Moore hosted the first service – a Science of Mind study group. She became Rev. Moore on July 20, 1946. On December 12, 1949, the Center was granted Charter #21 and became the Pomona Valley First Church of Religious Science. This is the date we mark as our Center’s birthday.

Our current sanctuary was officially dedicated on Sunday, November 22, 1959 and Dr. Ernest Holmes, Founder of Religious Science, was the featured speaker. In October 1960 construction began on the Sunday school and junior church classrooms. The fellowship hall - Holmes Hall - was built in 1964. In 1986, the chapel was added to the Sunday school building.

The vision and the exceptional commitment of our members to our community, led to many successes such as being one of the first commercial buildings in Pomona Valley to install solar panels, sponsoring the Character Champions youth development program, and making major renovations and improvements to our fellowship hall kitchen, bookstore, and library space.
